hello my loves! My name is MiCaela and I'm an elopement + destination wedding photographer based in Colorado, but I travel worldwide for love stories! I'm an avid memory-maker, love enthusiast, and down for any crazy adventure outdoors!
I am so happy you are here!
You guys this engagement session at the botanical gardens in Fort Wayne, Indiana was absolutely worth the 6 hour roundtrip drive I took from Chicago!!
This engagement session was full of magic, quirkiness, and so many giggles!! Michaela and Josiah are people that are filled with so much joy and love for one another, I definitely wanted to make sure I captured all of who they are with each other. So throughout this session I made sure to capture all of their joy when they are with each other!

One of my favorite things as a photographer is getting to know my clients as much as possible so that I can truly create a session that is unique to each couple and so that way the photos you get are truly photos that you will value over time because they’ll help you remember the memories and the feelings you have in these moments.
So one of my questions I ask my clients are: What is your love language? How do you show/feel love?
Michaela’s answers was “time is definitely my love language. Also food… we eat and cook together and talk a lot about food. To show physical love, definitely snuggles and kisses.”
And Josiah’s answer was “physical touch/gifts. I like to hold her hand and constantly let her know I lover her and think she’s the prettiest.”
So with both of these two being so intentional with each other and talking about physical touch and quality time being a love language I wanted to make sure to create that space for them. I do this so that they can feel comfortable with one another in front of me and also to create a space for intentionally celebrating the moment they are in and feelings they feel.
I did this by asking Michaela + Josiah to snuggle into each other and to share 3 reasons you are proud of each other. I also ended up asking them to talk back and forth on your top reason you love the other person.
These are some of the photos from those results!!!

One of my favorite things about Michaela + Josiah is how goofy, playful, and quirky they are with each other!! They bring so much fun and energy to everything they do!!
So when Michaela mentioned that one of the things she wants to remember about their relationship 20 years down the road was their fun and youthful feeling, I was so down to get some cute photos of this!!

And to end this gorgeous session I wanted to pay a little tribute to their actual engagement day!
Michaela + Josiah got engaged in December and they were driving around looking at different Christmas light together. Unfortunately it was a bit rainy and cold, but Josiah ended up taking Michaela to their college campus parking garage. When they were dating they would come here all the time to look out over the city and to talk to each other. So this is where Josiah ended up proposing to Michaela!
Their story is so sweet and so precious, I wanted to make sure to include a little bit of their love story in these photos. So I got a little creative and decided to add in some twinkle lights here and their to kind of have a little reminder of their actual engagement day in their photos.

This session was truly magical and full of so much intentionality. I had so much fun shooting this engagement session for my now good friends, Michaela + Josiah!
