hi sweet friends! My name is MiCaela (you can call me Mick) and I'm an elopement + destination wedding photographer based in Colorado, but I travel worldwide for love stories! I'm an avid memory-maker, love enthusiast, and down for any crazy adventure outdoors! I am so happy you are here!
I got connected with Kaleigh + Roger through some friends I had in the area. I was reaching out to a few people to see if anyone would be willing to do a carefree, laid back, but adventurous styled elopement. I have been wanting to shoot a real elopement in Rocky Mountains for sometime now and decided to just take my dreams into my own hands.
Even with styled shoots I always love to get to know my models because it’s important for me to still be able to capture the true love they have for one another, so I can capture authentic photos that can unfold in telling a beautiful love story.
So like all my clients are start everything with a virtual coffee date, where we can talk about your love story like:
How you guys met
What was your first date
Who made the first moves
What’s your proposal story (although for Kaleigh + Roger they are still dating, so no story was told for this)
But as soon as I got on the phone with Kaleigh I knew instantly that we were going to be a perfect fit for one another. Her sense of adventure, crazy passion, and joyful spirit is absolutely contagious and would make the styled shoot exactly as I envisioned it.
To make the styled shoot happen, I re-used a top from Lulu’s that I used for another styled shoot, borrowed the bright yellow skirt from a friend, and got my flowers from Trader Joe’s. Trader Joe’s always comes in clutch for cheap flowers, if you’re feeling confident in arranging something yourself.
I had an absolute blast capturing these two beautiful adventurers and their love for one another.
So here’s the gallery from one of my fav sessions I’ve done so far:
