When I tell you that I was so freaking stoked to work with Kagan and Brandon that’s the understatement of the century!!!

I went to high school with Kagan + Brandon were they became a high school sweetheart couple, seriously they have been together for 10 freaking years; talk about such a beautiful love story!

They got married in July of 2019 and went on a 4 month honeymoon to Indonesia, where they not only fell more in love with one another but also with the country. Their hope was to pack up all their bags and move out to Indonesia after that trip, but unfortunately that’s when COVID hit and changed their journey to staying in Illinois for the time being.

Even thought their move to Indonesia was put at a halt, Kagan and Brandon are FULL of adventure and wildly passionate about traveling together!!! Right before our session they just finished traveling around in a van for a few weeks with Outdoorsy through Joshua Tree National Park, Palm Springs, Death Valley National Park…and seriously so many other amazing locations!

Kagan + Brandon’s sense for adventure and travel is instantly how I knew we were going to be a perfect fit for a fun and adventurous couple session! I have been wanting to shoot at this location in Illinois for awhile now and Kagan + Brandon were SO DOWN to go on this adventure with me. So we hiked a bit through the woods to find this gorgeous golden field and the stunning evergreen forest!

After I finished my official session with them I asked if I could try out some new creative ideas I’ve been wanting to do with some clients (obviously for no extra charge). And when I say that these are some of my favvv from the photoshoot…they are defs some of the top photos for sure! I’ve been learning to step out in my creativity and I think that has truly been making some beautiful art and some fun times too!
